Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz (Draa Valley)

After that, we’ll head in the direction of Agdz and enter the vast Draa Valley, home to the biggest palm grove in North Africa. You will eat supper and spend the night in a stunning riad in Agdz.
Day 2: Agdz – Paris Dakar Track – M’Harech Strait – Ouzina Desert
Our second day of this five-day desert vacation from Marrakech will begin with a delectable breakfast at the Agdz riad. Following that, we’ll continue traveling beside the vast Draa River palm grove, but not necessarily by car. This morning, we’re going to get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to drive a sand track that has been used by the renowned Paris-Dakar Rally.
After that, you’ll go through Berber settlements that appear to be suspended in time as we pass through the Oumjrane plateaus. Thus, we will arrive at our second day’s objective, which is Erg Ouzina, the Ouzina desert’s dunes. We shall relish the sunset atop its crests. We will reach our accommodations in the midst of the desert around dusk. Dinner and the night’s sleep will be spent there, beneath a magnificent starry sky.
Day 3: Ouzina Desert – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi (Merzouga) dunes
In the middle of the desert, awakening is an equally poignant experience. And on this day of our five-day desert tour departing from Marrakech, you may experience it (for the first time). We will explore the town of Ouzina, which is home to little over a dozen people, after breakfast at this unusual lodging.
We shall get knowledge about the customs and manner of life of these adobe-housed desert nomads in this way. Alongside all of this is the presence of Ouzina’s neighbors, who will extend an invitation for tea in a cozy setting.
We will next travel to the neighboring town of Hamlia (or Khamlia), which is also known as the “village of the blacks” due to the hue of its residents’ skin. We will interact with community residents and be enveloped by the sounds of African drumming during the stay. There are several options for lunch, such as a traditional Berber pizza at a nearby restaurant or a picnic in the midst of the desert.
Our next stop on this five-day desert vacation from Marrakech is the dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi), which we will reach in the afternoon.
We will swap our 4×4 for an 8×8, or the dromedaries that nomads use to navigate this peculiar terrain, to get to them and witness a fresh sunset over the fine sand mountains.
You will eat dinner and spend the night in a brand-new, cozy camp made of traditional tents. And the endless starry sky, with its dazzling brilliance, as a gigantic roof.
Day 4: Erg Chebbi (Merzouga) – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate
You will have a new opportunity this morning if you had not seen much till the light rose over the desert dunes. This time it’s across Erg Chebbi’s dunes, where our tent camp is situated. There will be time in the morning for another camel ride back to Merzouga and for a rejuvenating shower (either in the camp or in a hotel, depending on the package purchased).
Following that, we’ll travel to Rissani, one of the region’s most significant towns… After that, we’ll head back on the road to see the Todra Gorges, a region known for its breathtaking rock formations sculpted by river erosion. Its walls may reach heights of more than 200 meters…
Day 5: Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech
The five-day desert vacation from Marrakech is almost over… And in order to do this, we will once more traverse the High Atlas, passing through charming towns perched on mountain slopes.
