3 Days – Morocco desert trips Errachidia
Day 1 : Errachidia to Merzouga desert
Picked up at your hotel, we will start our 3 Days – Morocco desert trips Errachidia to the desert of Merzouga, passing through Erfoud, known for its fossils and premium dates. Erfoud is famous for its regional commercial center and its lively Berber market, especially on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
We will break for lunch in a typical Moroccan restaurant. After lunch, we will continue our journey to the Erg Chebbi desert, where your camel ride awaits. Only 1 hour drive away, we will arrive at the nomadic Berber camp where a delicious dinner and traditional Berber songs await us.
Day 2 : Merzouga Desert – Tissardmine – Nomadic Families – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi
This is a full day in the desert. “Date with the sunrise” If you are in the middle of the desert, it is worth getting up early to contemplate the most spectacular sunrise ever seen on top of a dune near the camp and enjoy this landscape that is a gift of nature. After sunrise we return to Merzouga on camels, where a good breakfast awaits us. Then we will border the Erg Chebbi, large expanse of sandy desert where the Great Dune of Morocco, over 250mts high. We then continue along the road formerly used for the “Paris – Dakar” and ends in the mountains bordering Agelia.
Stop at the oasis of Tissardmin where we can find fossil quarries still present in the area, then continue along a road where we can see nomadic settlements and learn their secrets and customs. The next stop will be at a viewpoint to contemplate the Erg Chebbi pit. We will arrive at the village of Kamilia, originally from Mali, where we’ll have a relaxing cup of tea while listening to a concert of Gnawa spiritual music, transfer to your accommodation and free afternoon to enjoy the town or the dunes next to the hotel and watch the sunset. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Errissani – Erfoud – aoufous – Errachidia
After breakfast we start our last day to Errachidia through the market of Erissani, Erfoud, the palm grove of Tafilalet, the largest in the world. You’ll see thousands of palm trees along the 20 km of road. This road takes us to the Ziz valley, whose river flows down from the High Atlas and feeds the palm grove.
Here we will make a stop and from this high viewpoint, we will enjoy a magnificent view of the valley and the city of Aoufous… after arriving in Errachidia we will drop you off at your hotel/Riad or airport…
