Day 1: Arrival in Fez
Arrived at the airport in Fez 6 Days Get Your Desert Tours from Fez, picked up at the airport and taken to the Riad.
Day 2: Fez – Imilchil – Agoudal
After breakfast, we head to the outskirts of Milchil, one of the less well-known 4×4 routes in Marruecos that leads to the city. We will cross the Middle Atlas to get to Imilchil.
Every year in Imilchil, there is a festival dedicated to bodas. We will continue to Agoudal, where we will spend the evening.
Day 3: Agoudal – Todra – Merzouga
Seated beneath the watchful gaze of the mountains and lakes, we enjoy a peaceful breakfast…
We’ll go on to Merzouga, where the camels will be ready for us to descend into the sand dunes. There, we’ll stay in a luxurious camp and sleep beneath the stars to the sound of African drums.
Day 4: Back to the Dunes – khamilia – Merzouga
Following breakfast, we will board a 4×4 and travel across the dunes to arrive to Khamilia, a community populated by former African slaves. There, we may enjoy the sounds of the ancestors’ gnawa music, which is played by the pigeons du sable or bambara. However, first we’ll make a stop at the nomadic camps to have tea with them and get a firsthand look at their various lifestyles. At the base of the dunes, spend a free day at the Riad. the option to hire a buggy or quad.
Day 5: Merzouga – Erfoud – Azrou – Fez
After breakfast at the Maison Bouchafrine, we go to Fez, pause to admire the size of the palm grove in the Ziz Valley, stop for lunch in Midelt, and finally spend some time playing with the local monkeys in the cedar forest.
We proceed to Fez and change to the Riad.
Day 6: Breakfast at the Riad and a guided tour of Fez.
We are coming to pick up the guide who will unlock some of the mysteries of Fez. I would rather not give away too much so as to keep things unexpected, but I will tell you that Fez is the capital of religion and spirituality and the oldest imperial city.
The ancient medina has over 3,000 alleyways through which no motorized vehicle is allowed to travel. It’s going to feel like a voyage through time.
