10 Days trip from Rabat to desert
Day 1: Rabat – Chefchaouen
10 Days trip from Rabat to desert travel from Rabat to Chefchaouen, a lovely northern Moroccan mountain village. Begin the day by visiting the town’s meandering alleyways and busy marketplaces. Then take a stroll around the historic medina and pay a visit to the Grand Mosque. You may then stroll to the Spanish Mosque for great city views.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Fez
Travel to Fez, Morocco’s first imperial city. via Volubilus and Meknes, where you may tour the medina and the famous Bab Mansour gate and see Molay Ismail’s mausoleum before continuing to Fez.
Day 3: Fez
Begin the day by visiting the tanneries, where you can see traditional leather coloring. Then take a stroll around the medina and see the souks. Then you may go to the Medersa Bou Inania, an Islamic school from the 14th century. Finally, pay a visit to Borj Nord, a 16th century fortification with spectacular views of the city.
Day 4: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Erfoud – Desert of Merzouga
Travel to the Sahara desert. Ifrane, a mountain community famed for its Swiss-style architecture, is worth a visit. Then proceed to Azrou, a cedar forest home to macaques. Then proceed to Erfoud to see the fossil museum. Finally, complete your day with a camel ride in Merzouga’s desert and watch the sunset over the sand dunes. Spend the night in a deluxe bivouac.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
We’ll carry on to the Todra and Dades Gorges. Begin your day by seeing Todra Gorge, a spectacular canyon with towering rocks. Then, take a trek through the gorges and see the adjacent oasis. Then, go to Dades Gorge and walk through the palm groves. Finally, finish your day by exploring the historic architecture of the neighboring Kasbahs.
Day 6: Dades Gorge – Kelaa Mgouna – Ait ben haddou
Our journey to Kelaa Mgouna and Ait Ben Haddou continues. Begin your day at Kelaa Mgouna, a tiny community famous for its annual rose festival. Then, take a trip around town and visit the surrounding markets. Then, proceed to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Pass through Skoura and Ouarzazate to see the kasbahs of Amridil and Taourirt, as well as the film studios.
Day 7: Aït ben haddou – Taznakht – Taroudant – Agadir
Travel to Taznakht, Taroudant, and Agadir by car. Begin your day at Taznakht, a tiny hamlet famous for its Berber carpets. Then take a trip across town and visit the local markets. Then proceed to Taroudant and explore the historic medina. Finally, finish your day by visiting Agadir and experiencing the city’s exciting nightlife.
Day 8: Agadir – Essaouira
Continue your journey to Essaouira. Begin the day by seeing the city’s historic medina and visiting the Kasbah Skala. Then take a walk along the beach and visit the neighboring markets. Then you may see the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean from the historic Portuguese defenses. Finally, finish the day by visiting a neighboring argan oil cooperative and learning about traditional production processes.
Day 9: Essaouira – Marrakech
You may visit Marrakech for the day. Begin the day by seeing the city’s busy souks and paying a visit to the Koutoubia Mosque. Then, take a walk around the historic medina and visit the neighboring markets. The Bahia Palace and its gorgeous grounds may then be visited. Finally, finish your day by seeing a traditional performance at Jemaa el-Fnaa Square.
Day 10: Transfer to Rabat
Transfer to Rabat International Airport.
